Hat Talk Magazine ~ Hat of the Month Article!
I wanted to share this article with you that was featured in Hat Talk Magazine recently.
Lucy Walters is the milliner behind Hiorns Hats, near Stratford upon Avon in England. She created this pretty Sinamay and Silk Headpiece for her Spring/Summer occasion hat collection and we asked her to tell us a little more about it.
Tell us a little bit about your business. Hiorns Hats is an unusual name and comes from my maiden name. I now realise it's probably not the best name, as no one knows how to pronounce or spell it, but I plan to stick with it. I have a studio in a converted portacabin at home on my husband's farm, just outside Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire, where I make all of my hats and also have a large collection of pieces available for hire. I currently offer bespoke pieces, which are very popular with Mothers of the Bride and Groom, as well as hat hire which is very popular with Wedding Guests and Race Goers. What are your plans for the future? I currently have two very young children (aged 3 and 1) so at the minute I am limited to the amount of time I have available. However, as they grow and need me less, I plan to continue growing this business that I absolutely love. I am always learning new skills and pushing myself to create different pieces and I am keen to create my own styles.
