LOOKING BACK AT 2022

What an incredible year it was for Hiorns Hats in 2022.

It wasn't until I started looking back through social media platforms that I realised just how much had happened and had been achieved in 2022. I thought it would be great to do a bit of a recap.

Let's start at the beginning of the year....

The Pantone Colour of the year was "Very Peri" from the Blue Colour family.

Such a beautiful colour for Spring & Summer events.

Charity Coffee Morning - Wear a hat day raised £160

To raise money for Brain Tumour Research I held a coffee morning at Hooray's in Stratford upon Avon. It was an opportunity to see some of my lovely customers and show them a sneak peak of some of the new hats in the Spring/Summer Collection. It was such a lovely moring and we managed to raise £160 for such a good cause.

The Spring/Summer Collection 2022

In April I launched the Spring/Summer Collection, this range was particularly focused on "structure" with lot's of colours perfect for Spring and Summer events. I had a professional photo shoot held at the stunning Farncombe Estate in Broadway, the models had their hair and make-up done and outfits were on loan from Pops & Lo it was such a great day, Beth did an amazing job with the photographs and I'm sure you'll agree that both models looked stunning.

All of the pieces proved to be really popular with you.

Arrange hat hire through the website

It was great to be able to add the hat hire collection to the website, giving you the opportunity to view the collection from the comfort of your own home. Also making it super easy to enquire about a hat and to arrange to hire.

You may well remember me telling you about the fantastic opportunity that I had back in December, creating hats for the Vogue Cover Model and Racing Presenter Rosie Tapner at the Cheltenham Well-Being Festival. I spotted today that they have used one of the photographs of Rosie wearing a Hiorns Hats headpiece on the Jockey Club website!

International Woman’s Day

To celebrate International Woman’s on the 8th March I teamed up with some of my favourite female owned brands and put together an amazing giveaway.

Shelfield Park Races

I had a great day at Shelfield Park Races, it was a great opportunity to meet lot's of new people and show them some of the collection available at Hiorns Hats!

It was such a great feeling to know that there were a number of my pieces attending the festival. I love to receive your photo's through from the event.

FANTASTIC NEW PACKAGING

It was time to find some new packaging especially for the hats that were being hired as the lovely hexagonal boxes had started to look a bit tired. I was over the moon when I stumbled across these bozes which look like wicker baskets and have the fab bow detail.

Hiorns Hats Featured in the Stratford Observer

After the launch of the Spring/Summer 2022 collection some of the pieces featured in one of the local papers, the Stratford Observer.

Hatalk Magazine

One of my new pieces from the Spring/Summer 2022 collection was chosen as hat of the month by Hatalk Magazine and won 1st place for the Abstract Hat Challenge. I was then lucky enough have a write up giving readers an insight into Hiorns Hats.

What a lovely surprise it was when I checked my inbox and discovered an email from Muddy Stilettos to say that Hiorns Hats had been nominted. It was even more of a suprise to be informed that I'd made it to the finals.

Although Hiorns Hats didn't make it to the final winning post I was over the moon that I'd been nominated for my work and creations, what an achievement.

Best Dressed at Warwick Racecourse

In May I was delighted to have been placed 2nd in the "Best Dressed" line up at Warwick Racecourse. What a great way to finish our day's racing!

Royal Ascot 2022

I was super busy leading upto Royal Ascot, I'd been asked to commission a number of pieces for ladies day and there was also a number hats being hired. I was utterly thrilled to have received all of the customer photo's from the big day, they all looked fabulous.

Style Judge at Stratford Racecourse in July

In July I was asked to judge the style competition at Stratford Races Ladies Day, what a great opportunity and honour this was.

Learning New Skills

In August I attended @londonhatweek and went on a brilliant course with @thesydneymillineryco and learned the techniques to make this really cool piece.

I love how textural it is, and the amazing shine the feathers have.

November saw the launch of the super stylish and easy to wear all leather headband

I absolutely love these headbands, it was the perfect piece to wear to Cheltenham, it didn't get taken with the wind, kept my hair out of my eyes and was super comfortable. I will making more colours in this style over the coming months.

November saw the launch of Hiorns Hats Workshops

Knowing that things would slow down towards the end of the year I decided to put on a Fascinator Workshop. Giving people the opportunity to make their very own fascinator for a special event that they had coming up.

To my surprise the event sold out in just over a week....

I won't lie I was a tad nervous when the day arrived but I shouldn't have worried as all of the ladies that attended were really lovely and did absolutely brilliantly creating their pieces.

You can see how the ladies got on in the pictures below, pretty good, don't you think?!...

With this event being so popular I held further workshops including a Festive Headband and another Fascinator Workshop. I'm planning to continue to hold workshops throughout 2023.
